3rd May is the "Day of Dependence on Coal, Oil and Natural Gas"
Austria is supplied with 34% of its energy from renewable sources and 66% from fossil fuels. The 3rd of May is the day until which we can supply ourselves with energy from renewable resources this year in purely mathematical terms. For the rest of the year, Austria is dependent on fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas. A further strong expansion of renewable energies would strengthen both the competitiveness and security of the energy supply.
