Quality through qualification - the path to a nearly zero-energy building

On 01.01.2021, the nearly zero-energy building standard became mandatory for new buildings throughout Europe. The challenge for achieving the European and national climate and energy targets is to ensure that low energy consumption is not only planned, but also actually built. The construction sector is therefore faced with the major task of implementing the Nearly Zero Energy Building Standard. Even small mistakes in the construction process can lead to increased energy consumption and loss of comfort. This is why the quality of the construction work is of particular importance in the construction of nearly zero-energy buildings. The aim of the BUSLeague project is to increase both the number of and demand for qualified construction professionals.

The BUSLeague project builds on the European BUILDUP Skills Initiative and a number of successful national and European projects dedicated to increasing skills and quality of execution in construction. In its implementation, BUSLeague focuses on the elements of Europe-wide recognition of skills, awareness-raising, capacity building and adaptation of the legal framework.

The project is increasingly implemented at national and regional level in order to address the specific situations of the partner countries.

BUSLeague means:

  • Facilitating access to and increasing the attractiveness of a skilled workforce for companies and developers through the recognition of energy efficiency skills and qualifications.
  • Adapting regulatory frameworks to stimulate and promote demand for energy efficiency skills and qualifications.
  • Disseminate innovative training methods and techniques that have already been successfully applied in national and European projects.
  • Promote the results obtained at national and European level by developing and implementing a sustainable communication and replication strategy.

Focus in Austria

  • Identification of required skills and relevant short training courses (micro-training) in cooperation with the national climate protection initiative klimaaktiv and relevant product manufacturers.
  • Adaptation of nationally relevant short training courses.
  • Innovative implementation of these short training courses through digital media (apps), construction site training, training in DIY stores, etc.
  • Clear description of the skills acquired to enable Europe-wide comparability.
  • Dissemination of the project results via workshops, conferences and trade fairs.

Through your participation to the optimal result

Contact us and support us in identifying the required skills and relevant short training courses. Take an active part in the process and benefit from international expertise and the dissemination of training modules specially tailored to your requirements.

We are currently asking providers of short training courses in particular to contact us. As part of the BUSLeague project, a limited number of short training courses can be evaluated, adapted and advertised. Providers of training courses that are suitable and relevant for the implementation of the nearly zero-energy building standard will be selected as cooperation partners according to the priority principle.BUSLeague supports building owners, companies and professionals alike. Benefit from a higher quality of execution in construction and clearer visibility of skills.

The Austrian Energy Agency cordially invites you to the final event of the BUSLeague project

Sustainable building construction or renovation only works in cooperation with
competent partners. Even small mistakes in the construction process lead to increased
energy consumption and loss of comfort. This is why the
quality of the construction work is the decisive parameter in the construction of almost zero-energy buildings.
Only optimally trained energy consultants, planners and specialists can ensure flawless
implementation.
