European Energy Communities Facility
The European Energy Communities Facility (ENERCOM Facility) is an EU-funded programme that promotes and strengthens the development of energy communities across Europe. The initiative supports energy communities in developing sound business plans. In order to promote energy sharing in Europe in the long term, prospective and existing energy communities can receive funding and training via the ENERCOM Facility.
In the first funding call, Austrian energy communities were pioneers in terms of both the number of submissions and the winning projects. Read more about the innovative EEGs that were awarded funding here.
From idea to business plan - with the support of the European Energy Communities Facility
The ENERCOM Facility focuses on supporting energy communities in the development of a sound business plan. Both newly founded and existing energy communities can apply for funding totalling €45,000 with their innovative ideas. They also benefit from workshops and practical support from experts.
A prerequisite for applying is that a company form already exists - such as an association, a cooperative or another legal entity - and that it meets the EU definitions for energy communities.
You can use a self-check to find out whether your energy community or idea fulfils the requirements for submission.
